The selection processPaper to Film ensures a qualitative and fully transparent selection process.
You can submit any type of project. Be it for the big or small screen; fiction, documentary or animation: Paper to Film selects in all genres and formats*. Let your imagination run wild.
The same goes for selected screenwriters. You can be a veteran screenwriter or an emerging artist, we focus on the submitted project and make our decision based on that.
*Excl. unscripted programming and game & talk shows.
We know one project can please everyone. That's why we base our selection on objective criteria. Could this project be made? With a producer onboard could this project evolve?
Every submitted project is read carefully by two readers. If they disagree, a third reader considers the project and they all debate the projects merits.
Creators receive the committee's ruling at the latest 15 business days after submitting it. In case of selection, our team will you set up your project page on the platform.
Creators remain in charge of their projects. When your project is selected, we encourage you to keep your usual promotional efforts. The day your project finds a producer, your agent takes over.
All you have to do is mark your project as optioned and it will stop displaying in our listings. We take no commission, no percentage on the sale price and don't add any contractual obligations to pass on to your producer.
